I have decided that I can no longer watch or read the news. Either that or I should become an animal rights activist. or maybe both. it makes me depressed. All i have read in the news locally the last few weeks is about the puppy mills, where people breed pure-bred dogs, keep them in horrible conditions and sell them for hundreds or thousands of dollars. A couple weeks ago almost 140 dogs were taken from their owners and they had been malnourished, kept in wired crates living in their own waste (many dogs had burn marks from sitting in their urine for too long), some were losing their hair, they had insect investations, and so on. It was so awful!!!! We went to try to foster/adopt one of them, but the day we got there the Humane Society said they had been given to a vet who was a friend of the family
hopefully the evil people don’t get them back. Thennnn on the national news, I’ve been hearing all this stuff about Dogfighting!! it seriously makes me almost cry!!! I don’t know HOW people can do that to animals!!!!!
those people should probably be shot.
On a brighter note, I’m house sitting this week for a family that just so happens to have three dogs. So I get to take care of them and play with them.. they’re so sweet!
Oh, hmm… not sure if I mentioned this before or not, but my mom put our house up for sale! Not that it’s a huge deal right now because I live in TN, but she may be moving. haha
anyway, I can’t think of anything else to write about, so I shall be going now…

So Obie and Zeke (my turtles) seem to be doing well. It’s fun watching them because they have such different personalities. Obie is a little bit smaller and very shy. He hides in his shell and just sits there when you pick him up. Zeke runs like crazy when you pick him up and tries to get out of your hands.

Besides that, not much else has been going on. Mom and Tobey were in town this past weekend. Sunday night Beth and I were looking for something to do, so we went to get ice cream, then on the way home we witnessed a car accident (hit and run) so we hung out with the cops for awhile and gave them our report. It was pretty exciting.
Authorities discovered a puppy mill about an hour away, and rescued 134 dogs and puppies. They’re all now at the fair grounds and they need foster homes. so this afternoon we’re going to look at them. I don’t know if we’ll get one because we’d have to pay the pet deposit at the apartment, which is crazy expensive. Plus, if we’re just fostering it, then we might have to give it back if the owners aren’t convicted. I wouldn’t mind as much giving it to someone who would take care of it, but these people are evil, and they’ve had charges against them before. However, if they are convicted then you have first dibs on adopting it. i just know when I see them I’m gonna feel so bad and want to bring them all home
I have a lot to write about but haven’t had much desire to do so. However, I shall now. So, Florida was fun. I got to go parasailing, swim with sharks, get stung by a jellyfish, hold an alligator, ride some waves, walk home in a monsoon, and eat good seafood that I forgot I liked. and those are just the highlights.
Also since my last update I turned 21!!! and no, I did not get drunk. I did, however, take 21 shots…of sweet tea!
Beth took me out for birthday dinner at Olive Garden where they sang to me in Italian, then she got me chocolate covered pretzels (because I had been craving them forever and couldn’t find them anywhere!), sweet tea to take shots of (haha) and a Reese’s blizzard icecream cake!! So Britt and Goley came over for a little while and we watched Friends. This was all on Sunday because Beth was going to be gone all day on Monday (my actual birthday). On Monday I babysat for Joshua like usual. We went to the pool for a little while and when we got back there were birthday decorations everywhere and they threw a little party for me!! It was so cute!!! They got me a German Chocolate cake and let me take the rest home. it was really nice of them
Anyway, click below for some Florida pictures….I’ll add some birthday pictures later
