A beautiful mess

Going to Florida tomorrow!!! yay!!!!!!!!!

Doo doo dooo…. I’ m waiting for Beth to call/come get me so we can go get dinner and go to the store to get stuff for our trip…..

I got Obie and Zeke (my turtles!!) a “basking dock” today. I’ve been researching the turtles since I dont know much about them and I found out that they like to spend much of their day completely out of the water. The way their tank was set up, they had a small hill and some rocks they could climb on, but not enough to get them completely out of the water, just enough to help them stick their heads out and get air. So I went to the pet store (3 times actually) and found the perfect thing for them!! I also got them some new, clean gravel, so their tank is all nice and clean. I wasnt sure at first if they were going to like the basking dock, but they finally figured it out and they love it! they get on it all the time!!! They are so cute!

Had a good weeekend – Beth and I went home for my brother’s surprise 30th birthday party. The best part was that he was toally surprised!!! The party was in North Vernon at Eric and Adam’s mom’s house. I really do like their family, they treat me like part of their’s. They’re really nice people! Eric was a little late (to his own party!), but that’s okay. We played Cornhole for awhile and just hung out. Oh, and we ate a lot. After the party, we stopped by my aunt’s church to say hi to her really quick where we ate even more, then stopped by my grandma’s house to say hi to her.. but we didn’t eat anything this time. It was pretty cool seeing most of my family in one day… and poor Beth got to meet them all. haha. Then we had the nice, long drive back to TN…

Rewind to Saturday. On Saturday my mom took us to see the house she wants to buy in J-ville. I really like it!!! It’s so cute! It’s pretty much perfect besides the fact that there are no walk-in closets (but not bad ones, and I could deal) and that there’s only one bathroom and its on the 2nd floor (but there could easily be another one put in downstairs or in the basement). But it has a cool yard, a covered porch, a swing… My mom likes it too, but she’s coming up with all these reasons not to get it. She said even if she doesn’t get that one, she wants to look around for something else too. She wants to sell her house and stuff before she makes an offer on that one, which I guess makes sense.  I’ve just learned that sometimes if you want something, you have to make it happen, not sit around and wait for it to work out by itself….and my mom’s a sitter. 

Anyway, after house-hunting, we went out to eat then Beth and I spent 6 hours shopping. We originally intended on getting bathing suits, which we did, as well as lots of other clothes and pretty decorations for our apartment!! It was just kinda funny because we spent so much time shopping then finally got bathing suits at our lost stop – K-mart. Oh well…. we are going to Florida in 3 days!!!!

I seem to be doing better today, so I guess I just had a little 24 hour bug. I am, however, very sore from helping the Dennis’ move yesterday. I guess it was good exercise though, since i didn’t get to walk the past couple of days. Me and Beth walked around the apartment complex today though, and then we drove around it to see how long it is. Turns out it’s almost exactly ½ mile which is how long the track at the park is, so I can start walking around here and save gas I might like the park better though, but we’ll see.

I kind of hate Father’s Day. not that it is much different than any other day, but i guess it amplifies things or something and kind of shoves it in my face that my dad is gone. I miss him!!! I went with Beth to her aunt and uncle’s house and had dinner with her family. I like her family, they make me laugh.

I’m coming home this weekend!! which reminds me, i need to get my oil changed tomorrow….

I woke up sick this morning I felt dizzy and achey like you do when you’re getting sick and everything that touched my skin felt weird. So I went back to bed for a couple hours and then met Beth for lunch. I didn’t eat anything though. I feel a little better now. I think I’ll go take a shower and rest for the afternoon and hopefully that’ll make me feel better. I really wanted to walk a few miles today though. I hope I feel better by tonight though because we’re supposed to be helping the people I babysit for move.

So, I started a diet, sorta, yesterday. I decided I’m going to get myself in shape. I’m never very good at following “diets,” so really I’m just going to try to eat really healthy and exercise. Yesterday I kept myself around 1000 calories. I’ve never counted calories before, i always counted fat grams. But I’ve learned the secret: burn more calories than you take in and you’ll lose weight. it’s that simple. So, that’s my goal. Yesterday I also walked/jogged 2 miles. I’m not sure how many calories that burns though. Today I’m not exactly sure how many calories I had. I had a salad with grilled chicken earlier, but I don’t know how many calories were in it. Oh well. I think I might start lifting again too, even though it’ll be slightly more difficult without a spotter. But, I can deal. i’m going to go to the fitness center at school next week since I finally found out what their June/July hours are.

So, I think I’m going to be moving AGAIN. Twice actually. If I stay in TN for at least another year like I think I’m going to, I think me and Beth are going to get a 2 bedroom apartment. Maybe in August, but we still have to figure all that stuff out. AND I think my mom is going to be moving too. Not to Jackson like she was talking about last week though. she found a house in J-ville that she loves, and from what she’s said about it, I like it a lot too. I’m coming home next weekend (the 22nd) so I’ll get to see it then. It sounds really cute, and it even has a SWING! I love swings!!! I hope she gets it! cause if you want to know a secret, I dont really like the house she has now.

So I guess my summer will consists of babysitting, dieting, moving, and… the beach I hope!!!!

As if brown recluse spiders weren’t enough, we caught a LIZARD in our sticky trap!!!! INSIDE the apartment! I guess lizards don’t scare me, but it’s so gross that there was one inside the apartment! I’m pretty sure if I saw that thing in my room or something I would freak out!

I’ve been keeping Joshua every day now instead of just 3 days a week. They hadn’t budgeted paying me everyday, so instead they are paying me a little less an hour but it’s for more hours, so I end up with more money! I’ve figured out that it equals out to more than I made when i worked at Skip Jacks and when Mark paid me to watch the girls, which i feel kind of bad for because all i do is play with him for 2 hours a day and his parents are even still there while I’m there! But oh well, it’s fun and they’re really nice people. Yesterday I took him to the pool, that was fun.

What else? Can’t think of much, so I guess I’ll go for now…

hmmm… well the weekend sure did change things a bit. My mom is now talking about moving to TN. So Beth and I spent much of the weekend looking at houses. Houses are a lot more fun to look for than apartments. I doubt she seriously moves here though. We also cleaned a lot which was good. I finally cleaned my bathroom and vacuumed upstairs. Annnnd…. we saw the new penguin movie!!!!

I LOVED IT! (well of course)

Oh, and I got my new phone so I can get calls again!

Last year June was a beyond horrible month. This year it seems to be going much better. However, it has presented me with lots of things to figure out and lots of decisions to make (and not a whole lot of time to do it in).
