January 2007

I am daily reminded that God is always working and that He’s always there. It’s a good feeling to be able to see it again on a daily basis, too.

J-term is in full swing down here in Jackson. Sometimes it drives me crazy, but the only thing keeping me going is the fact that it will be over soon. I’m somewhat scared of my history class, which is quite the opposite of how the semester started out two weeks ago. Now, half way through, I love my english class more than the history one and if you would have told me on the first day of school that I’d feel that way I would have probably laughed in your face. Not that I liked the history class then, I just figured I would like studying for the history tests more than writing papers every week. but either way, I’m still scared of it… I really just want to pass. pleeeeeeeease.

So the other day (I guess late last week..maybe Thursday) I went to wal-mart to get some groceries. About an hour after I got home, I realized I wasn’t exactly sure where I put my wallet. I looked everywhere throughout the apartment, all throughout my car and Beth’s, and it was no where to be found. So we went back to Wal-Mart hoping someone had found it or turned it in. I thought I had left it in the cart. no one had turned it in. We asked the cart boy if he found it. Startled, he said no, but if he found it he would turn it in. I was almost sure I would never see it again – considering it still had all my Christmas money in it and gift cards. I called the bank and cancelled my credit card. So the next day I went back, almost positive that it would not be there. BUT IT WAS!!!! and everything was still in it too. It was amazing! however…I dont have that much money in my wallet anymore, so don’t try to steal it.

anyway… I got a random phone call (or try 5) the other day. Still not sure what to do about that. However, I love talking to Eric about it, it’s incredibly funny. I love that kid.

Well, I should go back to writing my paper now… it’s coming along quite nicely if I do say so myself.

It’s been quite awhile since I’ve updated this thing. I don’t even remember what all has happened since I last updated, but I’ll try to remember…
• I moved into my apartment in Jackson. it’s finally starting to get organized.
• Christmas was spent in North Vernon with the fam as usual :)
• Had quite a fun trip to the ER two days after Christmas. I couldn’t breathe in the middle of the night, so we went to the hospital. Outcome? I had an ulcer on my esophagus. It was way painful, but I’m all better now.
• New Year’s Eve was spent in Memphis with Beth, Kelley, and Jordyn and a few other random people who joined at various points along the way. First we went to the Memphis Zoo and saw BABY PENGUINS!!!!!!!! as well as grown ones, but the babies were sooo cute!!!! Then we went to the Peabody Hotel and saw the ducks walk. Met some other people for dinner at Huey’s and then chilled in the car trying to figure out what to do. We journeyed to Mississippi to get LuVel’s chocolate milk. we finally got some! (see a few entries back) We ended up back in Jackson just in time to welcome 2007 at Rachel.
• I’m taking J-term classes (still not sure why) which started Jan. 3rd. Today was the 5th day of class and I had a test in one class and a paper due in the other.
• We had a mus-musculus at Rachel! In simple terms, we had a mouse in our house. His name was Gus. We heard him in the walls one night and the next morning he had eaten part of one of the cookies we had baked. We got some traps and found him dead this morning.

I can’t think of much else. I’m in Union City right now with Beth (aka about an hour away from Jackson). we’re having a crazy party… I’ve been looking up some history terms and she’s teaching her sister pre-calculus. it’s way exciting. But actually, it’s pretty fun. Home-cooked food is always good.

Hope everyone’s 2007 is going well…
