Finally! the day you have all been waiting for…. the day you finally get to know what our halloween costume was for the KD rockstar party!!!!!Ready?………..the rumor going around was that we were being the Jackson 5…

……….but they were wrong….

…………instead we were………………………

………well, you see it was perfect……………………….

……………………………………………………

……………………………………………………………

………………….we were………………………………………….

………………………………………………………………………..

THE VILLAGE PEOPLE!!!!
Katy, Beth, me, Kristen, and Laura

It was pretty much the best thing ever. Among my other favorites were… well, Trista’s Michael Jackson costume was pretty cool. Her boyfriend Charlie came as Blanket, Michael Jackson’s baby. It was hilarious.

It was way fun. We did the YMCA for everyone.

I’ll post some more pictures later…

Thought it was over… but it’s just the beginning.

great.

So I’m home until Sunday at some point.

It’s kind of weird to be back… in an indescribable type of way. not that I’ll be gone forever, but I feel like leaving Jeffersonville was like closing a chapter of my life that I don’t want to read ever again. I miss some people here, but I know Jackson is where I’m supposed to be. at least for right now.

That said, I’ve still had a pretty good break. I got to see Shelly and finally meet baby Emma. She’s adorable!!!! it’s weird to me that shelly has a baby, I guess because I’ve known her since we were freshmen in high school, and she’s the first one of my friends to have a baby. But I’m happy for her, and she’s doing well. Plus it’s always nice to just not have to worry about school work…even though I’m still worrying about it because I know what’s coming to me when I get back. but I’m trying to relax… I guess that counts. That and it’s also nice to sleep in MY bed and be able to throw my clothes on the floor without fear of bugs jumping on them. eww.

It just so happens that Tisha’s wedding falls on my fall break as well. i love love love Tisha!! she works with my mom and I’ve known her since I was like 8. She used to babysit me haha. So I’m super excited that I get to be home for her wedding!!

Good conversation con mi madre today. We’re devising an evil, top secret plan. Or something. I love her.

So…I’m still iffy about churches. I think I’m cynical, and I don’t want to be but thats because people have and will let me down. But God doesn’t ever let me down. He’s there for me even when I’m trying so hard to turn away from Him. I’m learning that I need to stop relying on others to make me grow in Christ. I can learn about Him on my own. I’m not saying I dont need church, because I do. I know I do. and I also know that I’ll never find a “perfect” church, because people aren’t perfect. I’ve been going to a couple churches here…I like them, but I’m still confused about it. But what I do know is that I do have a desire to learn more about God and to grow closer to Him, and I know He’ll heal me from my past hurts and I will find a church that’s good for me and my relationship, so to speak, with church will be reconciled.

God is awesome though! And its so amazing to see Him work in my everyday life. He has blessed me so much in these past few months here at Union. And yesterday was one amazing example.
I was thinking about how I’m going to pay for my trip to Asia…I was thinking that I need to get a job, and since I can’t get one off campus and there are no openings for on-campus jobs right now, I’ll have to work during breaks. So, I was planning to try to get a job for the 6 weeks I’m home over Christmas, but I can’t do much about it right now. BUT GOD CAN! I got a very random phone call yesterday morning. It was from the daycare that I used to go to when I was little, that I applied at in June. She never called me back this summer, but she called me yesterday!!! She asked me if I was still interested in a job. I told her I’m at school, but i would be very interested over breaks. So she said she would work something out and call me back!!!! How random is that? That she would call me the morning after I find out that I’m going to Asia, 4 months after I applied there. It’s not random! It’s definitely a God thing! God will provide. and it’s awesome!

I just can’t help being so excited about this trip.. just the way it all worked out. I can’t even describe it, except to say that God is awesome!

I’m in Nashville right now on the new member retreat…and I think we’re getting ready to do stuff, so I better go…

Okay, so to be honest, last night at the Go Trip meeting I wasn’t really that excited at first. I’m not sure why.. it just seemed so intangible, I’d gone back and forth trying to decide where, if anywhere, I was suppsosed to go, and last night I was having doubts again about if I should even go or not. This is how it works: when you apply you put down 4 choices of where you would like to go. Then they figure it out and put you on a team. So you kind of get to pick where you go, but not really. My friend Ashley and I liked most of the same trips so we tried to put them in the same order so we could hopefully go together. Anyway, so last night at the meeting was when you found out where you were going. But they didn’t just tell you… it’s a big secret and really fun for the people in charge so they like to drag it out awhile. So they handed us someone else’s name with a number on it. We had to find that person and give them their number, while someone else found us and gave us our number…. the number represented which trip you were going on. So it was crazy. Anyway…I finally got my number. and I’m going to CENTRAL ASIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I’m SO EXCITED!! I actually kind of forgot that I put Central Asia down because there were so many that I liked and I’d forgotten which ones I ended up picking. I honestly thought I’d end up going to Guatemala. So Central Asia was crazy exciting!!!!! My group is awesome! And Ashley is going on it too!!!! it’s so awesome and I’m so excited! Our team is so awesome! B-Lo is going (crazy crazy senior guy) and it’s going to be so much fun!! anyway, so I called my mom afterwards to tell her (it was about 10:30 here so 11:30 at home) and our conversation went as follows:
Mom: hello?
Me: what are you doing?
mom: umm..I’m in bed
me: why?
mom: because it’s night time…isnt it?
me: oh! well I just thought it was important that i told you where I was going.
mom: where are you going?
me: CENTRAL ASIA!
mom: are you serious?
me: I’m dead serious!
mom: no you’re not!
me: yes, I am.
mom: can you call me tomorrow when I’m awake?
She doesn’t believe me. haha

anywho, last night I dog-sat with Beth because her aunt and uncle went out of town. So we stayed in a cool log cabin. Kelley came too. It was kind of like a party. We watched Monty Python so I finally got to see all of it. Then we had a fun time trying to squeeze 3 people into a double bed. That was good times.

Tonight I’m going to Nashville with KD for new member retreat. Apparently this is always really awesome and really fun. So I’m excited!!

I’m also really excited because I actually get excited about things again. For awhile I didn’t, and it was bad times. yuck.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And another really awesome thing is…where I am going is pretty much right next to modern day Ephesus. So I’ll get to see the ruins of Ephesus and Ephesians just so happens to be my favorite book of the Bible!!!! Something like 80% of the New Testament was written where I am going…so I will get to see where that was! AHH I am so excited (if you couldn’t tell!)

P.S. God is pretty much awesome if you let Him be!

I’M GOING TO CENTRAL ASIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

more details tomorrow. I’m going to dog-sit!

I am so excited about our halloween costumes for the Halloween Rockstar Party!!!!!!!!! However, they are top secret until then…

So this weekend my mom and my favoritest cousin Alyssa came in town!! It was fun to see them! Friday night a huge group of us and our families went out to eat at Los Portales which was fun. I’m glad they got to meet a lot of my friends. Then we went to the KD house because we were having a movie night there to watch The Little Mermaid. We didn’t stay but they got to meet some of my KD sisters so that was cool. we went shopping and stuff…good stuff. I loved the Grasshopper (the car my mom rented to come down here in!) it was amazing. haha

Anywho, last night was fun. We went to the KD flag football game… and afterwards I went to Beth’s room because there are gross bugs in our room again. yuck! So, I was writing my paper there for about an hour while Beth and Kelley played Tetrus, and then I finally convinced them to stop around 11:30 or something. Then we went on an impromptu trip to Wendy’s and randomly decided to eat it at the park in the gazebo. It was good times.

I get to come home in 8 days! I can’t wait to see TOBEY!!!!

Friday night I went to my first Union “futbol” game. We don’t have a football team, so soccer is the big thing here. We won during over-time, beating Lindsey Wilson 2 to 1. I think. (which is awesome by the way because I believe they are ranked #1 in the nation and Union wasn’t ranked at all. we are now since we beat them though.) Anyway, it was fun. Afterwards we watched Robin Hood in the Watters commons and had a dance party in the Massage Parlor AKA Kourtney & Stephanie’s room.

Saturday we had a picnic in the park. we got KFC and took it to the park to eat, but they didn’t give us any forks or napkins, so we ate the macaroni & cheese and mashed potatoes with potato wedges as our utensils.

Last night we watched Elf in Katie Morgan & Katalina’s room. that was good times also. And today i went to church with Beth, Lisa and Kelley…and then studied! yay! or not.

Katy’s sister and 4 of her friends are here but they’re at Target so I haven’t met them yet.

Anyway, i have lots to do, so I’m gonna go now….

adios.
